ECONOMICS & LIFE SCIENCES WORKSHOP ON SUSTAINABLE INTENSIFICATION OF RURAL AREAS. SPOTLIGHT ON ETHIOPIA.
On January 22, 2019 the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies will host the one-day workshop "Transdisciplinary approaches for sustainable intensification of rural areas. Spotlight on Ethiopia". The workshop, jointly organized by Institute of the Life Sciences and the Institute of Economics, will focus on combining the need to intensify agricultural production in developing countries, particularly in Ethiopia, with a model of sustainable growth for the environment and the economy. Italian and Ethiopian researchers from social and experimental disciplines will participate in the discussion.
The workshop will also address issues related to climate change; in particular, some presentations will describe the use of satellite data (remote sensing) for the investigation of effective strategies against climate change.
